K-W6LCRSd
Frameless 6-1/2" 2-way In-Wall LCRS with
Rotating Cross-Axis Waveguide

The K-W6LCRSd is engineered to provide the finest performance achievable in a 2-way in-wall loudspeaker by using a unique rotating cross-axis waveguide tweeter that focuses and balances the sound level across the listening space. This creates a greater sense of envelopment for all listeners within as well as at the fringes of the seating area, especially when the main speakers are spaced more closely than is ideal (common in many of today’s home theaters). This controlled directivity also increases intelligibility by reducing reflected energy within the room.

The waveguide also allows the tweeter to operate a full octave lower than conventional dome tweeters while simultaneously reaching more than a half octave higher in frequency. Therefore, the tweeter is able to cover more of the critical voice range, create a much smoother off-axis listening experience, and eliminate the midrange-hole that is commonly experienced with conventional designs.

The unique tweeter of the K-W6LCRSd, with extension beyond 27kHz, is crossed over to the woofer below 2kHz, unheard of for a 25mm soft dome tweeter. The woofer, made with DuPont™ Kevlar® fiber, cast aluminum basket, super-light double-length copper-clad aluminum voice coil, low eddy-loss Kapton® former, high compliance flat spider, and machined aluminum heat-dissipating phase plug, is only 6dB down at 45Hz anechoic, again unheard of. This combination yields the highest quality sound possible for installations without a subwoofer. With a subwoofer, the K-W6LCRSd effortlessly meets the SPL demands of all but the largest home theaters with no detectable strain.

Every model loudspeaker is "timbre-matched" ensuring sonic uniformity throughout the line. This means all models have been carefully engineered to have a family sound; this is also referred to as "voice matching".

Certain fine loudspeakers in the audio industry become benchmarks of sound quality or reference standards by which authoritative industry experts judge all others.
